Wilderness Way Girls Camp is a Christian non-profit ministry offering year-round, outdoor therapeutic camping for girls aged 10-16. We focus on girls whose challenging behaviors have overwhelmed their families. When families come to us, they've often exhausted traditional resources like counseling and other therapies, feeling hopeless about their daughter's future.
Our program has a girl in a group of up to 10 girls, each guided by two counselors ("Chiefs"). In this group context the girls live outdoors in simple campsites constructed of pine poles and tarps. This unique environment fosters a safe and structured setting where we teach Godly values and principles such as: problem solving, evaluating, setting goals, forgiveness, etc.
Through our program, girls learn to:
- Identify and acknowledge the hard places in their lives.
- Accept and process these hard places.
- Move into healthy relationships with God and others
A typical stay at Wilderness Way lasts 18 months. While we don't claim to solve all family problems, we equip girls and their families with hope and practical tools to solve problems that arise, heal from past hurts, and move forward with renewed hope for the future.
